Holistic Equine Bodywork

A Touch for Horses offers several equine bodywork techniques that can be combined based on your horse's individual needs.

Equine Massage Therapy

Massage therapy mainly focuses on muscles and other soft tissues. Tight, tense, and sore muscles can be loosened up, and any kind of stress points can be worked on. Massage can also help with scar tissue.

Equine Craniosacral Therapy

The brain and spinal cord are surrounded by the so-called craniosacral fluid. As it is being produced and pumped out, it creates its own pulse, the craniosacral rhythm. Since the entire body is interconnected, if the craniosacral rhythm is obstructed in a certain area, we encounter dysfunction. With craniosacral therapy, we take influence on the craniosacral rhythm.

Equine Osteopathy

The word osteopathy stems from the old Greek word for bone = osteo, and a more liberal derivation of path = way, so we are looking at "the way of the bones", evaluating joints for proper range of motion and overall alignment. This is a gentle technique with the goal to stimulate the horse's body to re-align.

Equine Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology tape is a special hypoallergenic tape. It is used for various applications: pain reduction, joint and/or muscle support, reduction of inflammation/swelling, and to improve proprioception. Depending on the type of application, we work with different sizes of tape, different cuts of tape, and varying amounts of stretch applied to the tape.
